Square Enix released this video of how the auto-attack in FFXIV could look like. It's still in production and not the final state! But it seems to work already.

Personally I have mixed feelings about this decision. On one side I really like auto-attacking because you have more time to chat with your allies during the battle since you don't have to hit a command every three second. On the other side, with this auto-attack, the game really will become something like an FFXI-2
Time will show what is going to happen!

I got a preatty special mail today! It seems, SQUARE ENIX is taking action about the whole "FFXIV is not great yet" issue. In fact, I was so far happy with the game and saw its HUGE improovments from alpha to beta to final game. But I bet, with the new heads behind now it could get even better.
One thing they didn't talk about is, what happenend to the other people in the positions.... hmmmm.. what I'm talking about anway? Read here my mail:

It is already a while since I spoke to Mother Miounne about my purification from the woodsin. But as soon as we started chatting, Papalymo and Yda came to Miounne too...

They too wanted to know more about what to do next. But there was another person approaching us, Khrimm.

Already last time he seemed kinda angry about these two who said to be "called my the elements". He got even more angry after the answer from Papalymo to the question "What the elements want them to do" to which he said, that they don't know why they're here. Khrimm then ran out of the Inn...
Miounne wanted us to go to the Oak Atrium in order to check how our purification already look like and if they fit. Plus Miounne also asked me to go after Khrimm to see if I can help him in any way...

Just got a FAIL message in FFXIV.. lols..

Mother Miounne told me I shall visit the conjurers of Stillglade Fane in order clean me from the forestborn call woodsin - a result of angering the wood's elementals.. So I went off to 'em, seeing a familiar face again.

What happened? When I start the Game, I thought it's similar to FFXI where you have to start the game with a chara and then add the event-items to this already built one. So I did this and afterwards registered the items. Because nothing happened first, I waited a few days.. maybe there would've been a delay or something.. but nothing happened. so I contacted SQEX and they then told me, that the items only appear on new charas, not on already created ones! ... kinda strange.. So there was only one way, delete and start over...

It was kinda hard to press the Delete-button >_<; But the people from SQEX assured me, that I will be able to re-create the same chara on the same server. Just from the beginning... And this time with the items!

And they were right ^^!
So I'm back on Besaid, with the name Miingno Star and with all three items Onion Helm, Asuran Armguards and the Hermes' Shoes XD

Yes, today I got a little packet from Asia! Inside I found the two CDs 'FINAL FANTASY XIV' Battle Tracks and 'FINAL FANTASY XIV' Field Tracks plus the Official Starting Guide!

The CDs feature nine battle tracks from easy to tough bosses plus the victory sound and eight field tracks including the tracks of the main cities and their surrounding areas.

The Starting Guide gives out all the needed (and maybe a little more) information for a successful start in Hydaelyn! And there are pretty many nice images ;D

In case anyone from Japan reads this, you can have my buying-code to earn some points. I cannot use them in Europe, SQEX doesn't allow it ^^;

Anywho, I finally could finish the FFXIV registration! And you know what that means! Hydaelyn here I come!
Okay, firstly I had to wait again, because SQEX made a maintenance of FFXIV.. yes.. great I know XD But I didn't had to wait long and then I could start!

After watching the intro movie and the whole credits (I had to wait for the servers to come up again) I could start with the already familiar character creation. It didn't change too much since the beta so I knew exactly where to click to create my new 'me' x3

Today started FINAL FANTASY XIV for all those lucky people which got a Collectors' Edition! And I did get mine today x3 Look at all that content!

I was kinda surprised, that there's only one installation disc. That big amount of data really fit on only one ^^/

So I deinstalled the beta, installed FFXIV and updated it. Yes, there are already updates, and not so less XD But it went pretty quick.

During the update I started with the registration of the FFXIV in my Square Enix account. But right at the point where I am supposed to add a player-license, I got stuck.. .. Here in Switzerland, SQUARE ENIX deals with Click and Buy for the payment transactions. And this Click and Buy Company has something against me.. they always block my newly created accounts without any reason. Same happened now... Called their support.. waited in the line for about 15 mins when I finally could speak to someone. They helped me to register a new credit card but now I have to wait till it's activated to continue. And this can take up to three days! Thanks SQUARE ENIX to use Click and Buy and thanks to Click and Buy to block me and make me wait even longer :(

So it was a short pleasure.. Oh well.. Once I finally can log in, I'll tell ya my name and server and everything x3

What you can see in this video, the "story" seems to be quiet relaxed actually. But trust me, what I know from the beta is, that there still are some things which aren't just happy~wappy ;D Be prepared!
And what you also can "hear", most of the English voices are "British English". It's a little strange sometimes, a few words they use are really "British" and for non-English people maybe hard to understand. But all in all, it leaves space for more. if you think about it ^^

So with this "first" episode I finally can "break" my silence and tell ya all, yes(!) I am already part of the FFXIV-Test-community since the Alpha-Tests which started in April! It was so hard for me not to post any screens or videos until now ^^; But with the new NDA SQEX released I'm allowed to do so and to talk about it.

Since the game is still in it's beta-state, this episode of course it also the number #beta ;D But for to celebrate this "first episode" I go all out with a set of 20 pictures! (okay, not all.. but a lot ;D) Click on them below to see each of 'em in FullHD!

The start makes a picture of The Oak Attrium, the main building of the carpenters guild in Gridania. It's a pretty impressive building, like all guild-buildings in this city. New infos and pictures got released on the FFXIV Sound Track Series site!

As we already know its release will be on the 29th of September 2010. Now we also know how they will look like and also what's inside :D Plus on the site you can now prelisten a few tracks, check them out!

At he beginning of the interview I was a little like "hmmm.. it's pretty hacked apart and so small answers..." but it changes during the video and at the end you can see a little how he really is like when he can speak freely ^^ He's just an awesome crazy guy! And the best composer our there I know ^^/

He did an incredible job on the soundtrack of FINAL FANTASY XIV, as far as I could hear it so far. The style is Uematsu~like but he always tries out new fresh things. And in FFXIV it fits perfectly into the scene!
I could talk about this great music all day long x3 But I guess this would show ya that I somehow could hear it already... never mind what I just wrote <_<; ...

Firstly, reduced price for the FFXI account, instead of the normal $12.95 they will only pay $7 from then on!

Secondly an FFXIV-ingame item called Hermes' Shoes:

And last but not least the name-transfer which will be FFXI-Name as first name and Worldname as family name. For me this would be Missingno Sylph, which noone else except me can register and use.

It's kind of interesting to hear him say that the big SQUARE ENIX had a bit of trouble sometimes with the amount of work they had to do. At least he says thin on the German translation... Anyway check it out! ^^;
